THE CLIENT'S BRIEF: The alterations included deepening the entire lower ground floor, and extending it to include the area beneath the rebuilt garage at the side of the site. The roof was also opened up to form higher ceilings and sleeping platforms in two of the bedrooms. All had to be done as fast as possible, and subject to many Clients' design changes throught the works.
SOLUTION: Aleck Associates produced suitable structural designs and collaborated with the specialist structural subcontractor to carry out underpinning and structural support work.
